My tank setup

Hey all! I just got my aquarium light today so I thought I'd share my tank set up with yas! (Excuse the flash) It's a 30"x12"x15"... Don't worry the 2 goldfish are only residents while I'm cycling and the castle hasn't really got sharp edges... Much smoother than a lot of the fake logs I tested!

Hello Lindsay, I like your tank its quite nice
happy.gif
. I love the plants and the castle, mabey your axies become kings and/or queen of the tank

.

I like the comets in your tank, they look nice. Your water doesnt look as foggy as i thought so i guess that you have fixed your cycling problem.

Thanks stipe! The water still is a bit foggy it just didn't really show up in the pics.

Hey, that looks very nice

I guess the Axolotls can be the dragons guarding the princess in the castle lol.

I really like the castle

Very aquarium classic ;)

lol, Rheann that funny but i tohught that the dragons where bad and the pricess was ment to be rescued,
happy.gif
. My axie is the prince charming and my snails are the evil dragons that are to sloww to stop my sexy prince charming,

looks very nice, like the way the light gives off a purple tinge to the castle, what kind of substrate do u have ? and lastly
happy.gif
are they real plants ?

hey... that castle is soooo cool!! where did you get it from?? Does anyone know anyone from Canberra (Australia) that has a Axolotl??

i Think my cousins had one!?!?! but that was a while ago, hehe.

Wow! Lindsay that castle is sooooo cool!

My boyfriend wanted to put a castle in my tank, but we couldn't find one without any sharp edges - you're so lucky to find one!

I love it!

Did you get that castle from Big Al's? I saw one just likeit on that site. I have a castle, but its not as big as i thought it would be.

Hey thanks all for your positive feedback!

Rheann - I was thinking the same thing about the axies being dragons guarding the castle! LOL. My fiance thinks I'm the biggest dork ever hehe

Rob - The castle actually is a bit purply on it's own but the light does enhance the colour. My substrate is purple aquarium sand that I pretty much hunted all over WA for before I found some LOL. And lastly - no, unfortunately the plants aren't real... They're plastic ones that I bought on ebay. hehehe

Jordan and I am me - I got the castle from Tropigold Aquariums which is a shop near where I live. It's a Penn Plax aquarium ornament and I LOVE IT!

I thought I'd add a better pic of my substrate coz it doesn't really come out in the above pics

wow awesome purple sand! Purple Rocks! O i forgot to add, what type of light is that? If its a black light, i would asume it would raise the temperature quite a bit.

Hi Jordan - It's not a blacklight. It's just a flourescent tube that came with my Aqua One reflector. When I first turned it on and noticed the purple tinge i looked all over the packaging etc to see if it emitted UV rays and couldn't find anything to suggest that it does... So I'm assuming it's safe

Wow! I thought the sand was black, I love purple, that is so pretty

Thanks again for sharing.

I think the lights are safe, my lights emit the purple coloring too, all of my tank lights always have. I think it just is to make it look nice

Wow! Castles usually look tacky in fish tanks but you got a really nice one and stuck with a theme, I love it (flash in first pic looks like a full moon)

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
