My tank is so filthy!

Hi, I have a 20 gallon aquarium which is currently housing a 3 inch little axie. I have an AquaClear 50 on the aquarium, but the water still seems full of little white particles and other things. The ammonia started climbing (but always remains below .25) so I've been changing 20-40% of the water daily and supplementing with prime, but the water just wont clear up. It's been cloudy for about a week and the water parameters haven't budged either. What should I do?

If this is a new set up, then this is perfectly normal. Cycling a filter can take 1-2 months easily and after 1 week these are very normal.

I would stick with the water changes. You will soon have a nicely cycled tank.

I've noticed that sometimes over using prime can make the tank somewhat cloudy if it isn't the cycling of the tank.
