I have recently acquired a mole salamander, It was hibernating and is now wide awake. I researched their diets and decided to try wax worms. She acted as if she was going to eat it then never did. The next day I tried small crickets and she was not interested in them at all. Never having had a salamander before I am looking for a little advice on what to do.
Thank you for any suggestions

For Salamanders, Wax Worms are difficult for them to digest and not very nutritious. Smaller sized earthworms will do very well, as they are a primary source of food in the wild. Sometimes you have to hold the live, wriggling worm to their nose and let it squirm around so they get interested in it. Sometimes it takes a little bit for them to get out of the hibernation 'torpor', but worms are your best bet.
