Hello all, i've recently decided to keep axolotls and am cycling the tank just now.
as i'm new to axolotls i was wondering if anyone had any advice or comments about how i've got the tank set up.
there is 2-3cm of play sand as substrate with some aquatic pebbles at the front of the tank, i wasn't sure if this was too many but i like how it looks and thought it would give them a bit of variety.
there's also an artificial tree/bark tunnel and a plant pot for them to hide/shelter.
there are 6 live plants altogether, some twisted valance, hornwort, elodea, and two others i'm not sure of the names but the guy in the fish shop seemed to think they'd be ok, although i'm not sure how much he knew about axolotls.
the filter is a fluval 205 which i've got running through a home made spray bar.
like i say, any advice on the set up would be welcome, i'd like to have the tank looking as good as possible and the best possible conditions for when i eventually get my new pets.
