Here's just a little peek at my new guy, I haven't named him yet and the photos don't do justice to his colouring

Wow he is a lovely colour! Have you got any more photos?

I would love to see what kind of pattern he/she has down its body.

Also on a final note, welcome to the forum. You will find everyone here is real helpfull if you have any probs.

Thanks Andrew

I've been lurking the past few months trying to get things right for the little guys.

Here's another picture of him, he's not really spotty, and he looks a mixture of red/brown and grey depending on what angle you look at him.

My tank is very miniumal atm because i'm trying to sort out a few problems with ammonia and figured the simpler the better at present.

Wow, I've never seen an Axolotl of that coloring before! He looks rusted, and rust is one of my favorite colors!

Do you know how old he is?

Your tank is also very pretty

I agree. Definatly one of the most adorable looking axies ever.

Hey just noticed your in Brissy. I'm just up the coast. I think there are a few other members of this forum near you.

Got the temps sorted out yet. Everyone in oz is winging at the moment.

Thanks guys

I still don't know what to call the little fellow.

I finally have sorted out the temperature probs with a large fan and the ice bottles. I've been having my guy look into the DIY chiller plans so hopefully we'll be able to make one instead of forking out the crazy prices they want for the retail ones.

he reminds me of that one posted a while ago, its name was a mix of coke and fanta (cant remember what it was though) i agree they are cool looking axies and the darker gills complements his lighter colour (lol sound like a makeup artist or something)

Cool axie, sin sister - noice, different, un-u-su-elle!

Hoping, you're a Kath & Kim fan so that you got that joke, hehe.

Well done on searching on here first to make sure you had everything right, I did it the wrong way around and got my axie, then realised I did everything wrong and changed all my ways.

He looks really cool. Nice gills too!

I love his color. Wow. I dont think I have seen one like that. Great find.

I love his colour too...reminds me of brown velvet...soft..lol

i'm not really sure what type he is to be honest, does any one know?

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
