Here's a couple of pics of my new-ish, 4-inch wildtype, Xannon (you can see the reflection of the camera in the first pic):

And here's one of my good old (well, older than Xannon) leucistic, Carlito:

That first picture is great, Shaun, how do you get them like that

?

Xannon (nice and unusual name) looks beautiful, is it a boy or girl?
And what do you mean with new-ish? Recently purchased but not shown to us yet?

I still haven't posted pictures of my Uisce and Beatha because I can't get any nice ones, being as hopeless as I am with my digital camera

Nice head shots. I love the gill colouration for the bottom axie. your wildtype babies look as if they have good personalities

Hey great photos, Xannon looks smiley

Thanks- sorry that I haven't been able to reply.
Silver- I got Xannon a while ago but have been quarantining it and couldn't get any good pics. Don't know if it's a boy or girl yet (only 4 inches long) but Xannon is a universal name so it doesn't really matter which way goes. As for getting it to look like that, take the pictures when they are hungry because that't when they look at you the most.
AnnMarie- it's the same wildtype axie in both pics! And yes, it's got a great personality, and it's showing it more and more as gets to know me better. Carlito is always mucking about, especially at dinner time. Little Xannon just looks at me and moves about to a better spot if he's getting too excited though, lol!
Greta- thanks for your comment as well. He always seems to be smiley.
All of my last pics were rubbish, so I mucked around with the configurations and the pictures come out much clearer if you put it on tulip or something like that (it's a canon digi camera)

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
