Hi everyone... i have just purchased a hailea 150a chiller for my 100L aquarium. im running a 400l/hr pump for the chiller, but the chiller is jumping up and down in temperature between 25.4 and 25.6, i havent had it runn for long but im worndering if this is normal for at first? the outlet house isnt far from the inlet pump should i position the but it is right next to one of my two filters so i assume the filter would take the chilled water in and push it to the other side of the tank...
any advice would be much appreciated

Yes it is preferable to have the inlet and outlet hose at opposite ends of the tank. If you place them to close by, the efficiency of the chilling drops.

i will have to keep that in mind as i also bought that chiller but havent used it yet.

quick question i noticed on the box there was a graph with the temperature and time take to chill it.

i remember reading some where on the box and the way i interpreted it was that the tank would get to 28 degrees before it would kick in and start chilling.. is this correct? or does the chiller work constantly to keep it at the temperate you set it? say 15 for example.

Most chiller units would not constantly chill the water. There is a thermostat inside that detects the current water temperature and when it goes above what you set, the chiller will start cooling the water down. It does this in pulses. It is a gradual cooling process and when you first use it, it might take 8 - 10 hours or more before the water finally stabalises at the temperature you set at.

The chiller uni will start that cooling as long as the water temperature is above what you set at. There is no magic number like 28 degrees that would trigger it to start.

okay thanks for that. what yould you suggest setting it at?

I set mine at 16. That way, it tends to hover around 18-19 on very hot days.
