Do you have any other pictures of black berry? To me he looks like an A andersoni, but I may be wrong.

A. andersoni are extremely rare in captivity (almost unheard of), so it's unlikely Hanni acquired one thinking it was an axolotl.

Good eye though, there is a slight resemblance.

I dont think they are as rare as you think in captivity but you certainly wouldn't get one by accident thinking it was a regular axolotl.
And Blackberry certainly is a lovely regular wildtype axolotl.

Thanks.

I so want a golden one. Might start dropping hints to my hubby2b. My niece has a black and a gold she wants a white. Then we both want a glow 1. I love them I think they are such funny things to watch. More so when they sleep on their backs

@shizeric that thread it almost two years old. And i think michael strom on here actually breeds them. I am no expert its just from what i read and have seen them for sale online.
@blaze it does look similar to one from that 1st angle hun.

Oh and kylie i'm not sure its normal for them to sleep on their backs. Do you mean upside down? I have a deformed one that does that but only because he's 'special' his brains a weird shape and he does weird things. But my regular ones never do it! Mel

The back sleeper is my neices golden baby it does look soo cute cause it flicks it legs with noise just like a human baby. It does it sometimes now and now when it does it in a plant.

Minnie is super cute!

I have never heard of an axie sleeping on it's back. I think I would freak if I saw one of mine doing that. : )
