Hey guys,

I finaly got my new babies i was hopping for. I got three, two wild types and one lacustic (still cant spell it, lol). Im still hoping of getting one more, a jet black one. Which type would it be?, wild type or lacustic? (here we go again).

So far they're in a small container for the night just to settle in before they go in their quaratine tank.

They have lovley colourations, one brown freckled wild type, a white wild type with golden freckles and a beautiful lacustic ( still gettin it wrong).

Here some pics

As you can see they've all ready settled into their holding tank and i havnt even moved them to their quaratine tank. All they have in there is some java moss and a airstone.

The lacustic (some one help me) is my favorite. WHen i first saw here in the tank she jsut stared at me with these big eys with this look in her face, it was like, pic me pic me. (s)he was the first one i chose, and looked like one of the happiest and healthiest there. While in the car (s)he just stared at me, even when i spun the bag she wiggled around so she oculd stare at me, (s)he is so Cuutteee!, lol. When ever i come to the tank she goes to say hello

Anywayz, they're all healthy, no scratches or bruses. Now deformality ( well the golden wild tpe has a finger growing out of her wrist.). Now fungus or bacterial infection, alls fine. The only thing is that the brown wild type is abit skinny, but i can fix that

. Im still quaratining them though.

Can you indentify the male and female?, that would help alot. Im moving them in with squidy because they are roughly the same size.

Oh yeh they all have their gills pointing forward. There is no current or anything, what might be the cause?

very nice looking axies stipe, they both look very healthy!!:>

leucistic, thats it, finaly, thx Teesha.

Alex, thers three by the way, lol.

Thx for the comments, they're comming along nicley. I tried to feed them not long ago, but they refused. I guessed they might be stressed, so im giving them some time to settle in.

Their gills have started to poing backwards again, i think this mean that they're settling in and being under less stress

Stipe, nice looking axies, how big are they?

By the way, jet black axolotls are called melanoids but there are some very dark wildtypes so look for the gold ring around the eye. If it has its a wildtype, if not melanoid.

lol opps!. when i first got my axie he rufused to eat for a week, i think its normal. like you said they're just settling in.

Your light wildtype looks just like my Tijuana

Thanks for the comments guys.

Thx for the help Jarred. If the axie in your avartar a wild type? I saw one in the shop and it caught my eye but i didnt end up buying him becasue the man caught the wrong one and i was stuck him the one i had ( as i didnt relise till i was half way home.) I didnt want to return Him/her i felt 2 slack, (s)he needed a proper home.

Guys, i need name suggetions for them!!!

The axolotl in my avatar is a wildtype. When I got him his underside and legs were totally white. I expected him to darken with age but he remained the same colour for the year or so I had him.

He looks nice, ay. that colour really caught my eye. The one in the shop had the same colour as a nestle cafe coffe lid you get from wollies etc. Love it.

Very nice axies stipe. Great colourings on the dark wildtype

The white wild type is very amazing, I've never seen a color like that before, great find!

Please post some pictures after quarantine when you get them into your tank, I would love to see them! :D

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
