Some of the eggs are more developed than others, I expect the most developed eggs to hatch this weekend.

I have noticed some of the larvae are riggiling in there eggs, they have developed black and yellow stripes on there backs, I expect them to hatch any day now.

Good luck with them Sam, should be interesting for you, do you intend making them part of a school project ?

Thank you Ian, I have found it fascinating watching the eggs develop.
No this is not for a school project, though I did do one with axolotl eggs.

Congrats!
Alpines are so incredibly tiny when they hatch, the smallest larvae i´ve seen. It took mine months to achieve any decent size, last year, but when they did, oh, when they did....little killing machines.
You´re in for a brilliant experience.

Thanks Rodrigo:happy:
here is a pick of one of the larvae, I had to take it out of the pond tank to take the picture.

Sam asked me today about my alpine larvae...he wondered if they had legs. I went and looked and was surprised that three weeks after hatching , most did have their front legs. Here are a few picture of Sams, larvae's siblings. The larvae, lying on its side was culled this afternoon as it had a bend in its tail, was always lying on its side and when it swam it went in circles.
