Photo: My lovely Sek

Hi! I wanted to post some photos of my axie, Sek. I'm not sure wether he's a male yet (his tail is quite long and he has a slim body, so I suspect so) but he's about 5 months old I'd say. I recently got him a new tank and he's loving it.

At the moment, he loves to run around and sit on his plants. He also enjoys face planting himself into corners, and recently he has been contemplating actually using his hide ​

Sorry, but I must add that the gravel that is in the bottom of his tank is likely to be swallowed by him and make him ill

You might consider reading the various threads on this forum for advice on more suitable substrate for the axies :happy:

I realized that this morning, I've got sand underneath that lot of gravel on top. Hopefully that will be better when I take it off. I can't afford bigger pebbles at the moment but I was hoping to get another lot of those black ones. Thanks for your help & thinking he's beautiful

He is awesome.
As stated... the gravel/small pebbles gotta go. Go barebottomed, barebottomed with BIG Pebbles, sand, sand with a few BIG pebbles. All Large stones can lead to lots of lost food and water quality issues. :happy:

I got some huge pebbles for Sek and took out his old substrate. Our local pet store doesn't sell aquarium sand, so I will be going out to the city to buy him some sand from the bigger pet store.

He also used his hide for the first time!

Thanks Gaius! I'm not sure what my plants are called as the pet shops around here lack names, but I could probably look them up.

A new additon, Sek's new friend Alonzo! I'm pretty sure he's a golden albino.

He likes to play follow the leader with Sek, it's very funny...

He's actually not an albino. He's a leucistic with that primarily white body and those wonderful dark eyes! If those adorable freckles end up spreading all down his sides, you may just have a piebald on your hands - how truly unique! Great find - best to all!

I find that putting all the curtains down and turning on the aquarium light helps. Also patience works a treat. I'm glad you like my pictures...
