Will they move out of your basement and get a place of their own? ;)

Wow, nice pictures, David, really shows off those beautiful animals.

Lots and lots and lots of 10 day old crickets and some times some chopped up worms.

Very, very nice! Any chances for distribution and
a good care sheet?

I'll probably be selling alot of the marmortus juvies this Fall (along with captive born Triturus montandoni and captive born Tylototriton verrucosus juvies)and there's allready a pretty good care sheet for the marmortus on this site. Part of the proceeds for the sale will go to support this site, so hopefully everyone will start saving there nickels and dimes. And over the next few years I'll be increasing the number of types that I'll be offering. Imagine that, captive born and captive breed European and Asian newts available in the U.S.

I am really looking forward to it. I'll be planning my newt tank. Please add me to the list of buyers.

I thought I'd only keep north american species, but sometimes people put up animals that are just irresistable

Holy cow, you have enough there

. I've only ever seen more on one occasion, and that was at Patrick Steinberger's home a few years ago. He had a plague of these and about 3 plagues of Triturus vittatus ophryticus.

Well done Dave *applauds*

Thanks John. I understand that a really interesting article written about the setting up for breeding of marmortus, montandoni and cristatus will be in the upcoming quarterly newsletter. Since the eggs have been laid, the babies hatched, and the juvies have morphed, since it was written, maybe we should delay the newsletter a bit so I can update and extend the article to include everything from conception to adulthood

In fact, pretty soon these marms will be old enough to read the newsletter themselves

. Hope they enjoy it

I have nothing to say in my defence. Mea culpa.

I caution against the use of the word quarterly though. At this rate it will be once every quarter of a century, not year. As one Steven Patrick Morrissey once sang "I know it's gonna happen, some day".

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
