This is my first axie tank, i havent moved my axies in yet they are still in tupperware. i think they might be too small for the filter. i didnt want to go with the natural pond look like most tanks i have seen so i went with a different idea. a lil frog town with lilly pads and all. please if you have any advice or comments post them.

Nice tank, it seems like it may be a bit of a handful to clean, but as long as you can keep up with the housekeeping, it's a very nice tank... even though those frogs are kinda creepy and might give me nightmares.

How large is the tank, and how many axies do you intend to keep in there? Based on that filter it looks like you are planning on keeping the water level pretty low, so your water could foul pretty quickly depending on the size of the tank, water level, and number of axies.

i plan to raise the water level later as the axies get older. right now they only are about an inch and half long and dont have their beck legs. so i want to keep it low so they can reach their food. this tank is just temporary until i can afford a larger tank. it is a 15 gallon tank and i have 3 axies. at the moment they are in a tupperware container about a 10 inches long.

What size tank you gonna eventually upgrade them to? I'd hope at LEAST 30 gallons.

Also..what color axies do you have?

yes i plan to get a 30 to 50 gallon tank. im not sure but i think they are all wildtype. at the moment i have 2 that have brown dots and 1 that is black and brown. they are small so its hard to take pics or i would post some.

I have a 30 gallon tank, and I think that is the most reasonable size when it comes to larger tanks. It is 16" tall, so it's a nice height and easy to reach the bottom in order to clean it. 50/55 gallon tanks are much taller, and can be difficult to clean. I had a 37 gallon tank, and it was ridiculously tall and I had to reach in passed my elbow when syphoning. I highly recommend a 30 gallon, as the footprint is nice a big so the axies have lots of room, the large amount of water aids in easy water maintenance, and is big enough to make a nice addition to any room.

yea i think ill get a 30 gall then becuase i dont want anything too tall.

love the frog town! i'm sure your axies will have fun exploring in there :)
