Ah one of my pics didn't get on the post correctly and I don't know how to fix it >_> hope this works. I also wrote little descriptions that didn't show up...oh well. What do you guys think of my newts ^___^

Cute newts, Helen

Do you have a secure lid on the tank with no spaces at all through which the newts can escape?

By the way, if you're using polished rocks as substrate, be aware that uneaten food and other waste can accumulate under the rocks and turn your water quality lethal if you're not careful -- especially if the water has not been cycled to begin with. Do you have a feeding area without rocks?

Hope you're enjoying them!

Thanks for the comments ^_^ Here's another random picture...I had to take out the bigger newt because he kept biting the small one ;_;

Tim- I do have a tight lid for the tank, and I did stop using rocks soon after that pic....so much easier to maintain now.

    Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
