The albinos vary from white through to a strong yellow with the inbetween pale yelllows too.

I love them they are so sweet. x

Jenny they are exquisite. And what a range of colours! I am raising 4 day old axies at the moment (dad was wild type and mum white like in your 2nd photo) and I'd love some tips. Yours seem very healthy - how do you do it? How old are your babies and how many do you have in each container?

Thank you, I have seen your thread, It's amazing how little they start off. When they were tiny I had them in small takeaway pots. I kept them in 10's then as they get bigger I reduced the numbers and then put them in storage boxes so they had more room.

It is amazing how much time you have to spend looking after the little darlings. My routine was to change the water in the tubs completely everyday ( having left it overnight to get to room temp etc) clean the tub. Fresh water and babies back in then feed. Usually took about 1 1/2 to 2 hours a night . Then start over again the next day.

I had never raised babies before and this was not planned I read all the info on this great forum and Axolotl.org

Thanks Guys'

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
