My axolotls laid eggs

Wow I am stunned. When I woke up tonight, the aquarium plants had tons of eggs on them! I just don't know what to do. So I have some questions for you. 1, How do I rear axolotls and 2, What are good things to feed my newly hatched axolotls? Any and all replies will be a great help. Thank you!

Not as easily answered as a quick forum response, you're gunna need to do a lot of research.

Not to be patronising as I'm sure you have thought about this already - but are you sure you're ready to raise baby axies? The eggs have to be removed from the tank and they have to be raised seperately or the parents will kill them. They need fairly intense care and you will ultimately be left with a lot of axolotls that are going to need new homes - whether with you or with others. I'm just saying as you said you aren't sure what to do - you can still just collect up the eggs, pop them in the freezer for a day to kill them and then throw them out. You might not want to be lumbered with this, especially as your axolotls will continue to breed regularly if you're going to keep a male and a female together! I know I personally wouldn't want to rear babies because although fun its just too much responsibility and effort, especially finding homes for them all afterwards.

But if you really want to do it then make sure you read around a lot and do your research before they hatch. And be prepared for them to eat each other. A lot.
