Hey, your wildtype has crazy colouring like mine does!!! Check him out, thats him at the front of the pic -

my one is darker than yours
it's like a cross Between the
light one in front and the dark
one behind it and it's a lot
Fatter. so are you going to Guess.

They aren’t very good shots
of my axies I have since
fiddled the camera and got some
better shots here they are:

Can't guess really unless you get shots of the vital sexy bits underneath. The only other indicator is the belly but this is not reliable - using just this method, your crazy wildie is a girl.

The shot I posted is quite light and the gold really stands out, but when I look at crazy Quetzal in ordinary light, he looks almost exactly the same as yours. Its spooky! Right down to having a funny yellow patch on the skin. Quetzal got much yellower/golder over time and yours might too.

Also, there are heaps of us west aussies on this forum and I have yet to see any that put me in mind of Quetzal - except yours!!

nope i don't think she has
much more time to get
lighter she is very old around 13

13! Thats interesting. Have you noticed any colour changes over the time you have had her? Mines about 9 now and there has been a marked colour change over the last 2-3 years. And it was a girl then?? Whats her name.

I have grown a bit more of
her since being on this site
it's not the most common
shade of wiled type.

Hang on a minute! "I have grown a bit more of
her..." Does that mean that you have bred her, or shes gotten bigger? Another question

, if she is 13, it says on your profile that you are 13 - have you just got her from someone or were you childhood companions

?

Yes a girl and the other ones a
boy happy couple although she
is a cradle snatcher. Her name
I have not yet decided neither for
the boy lol got any ideas. and no
real dramatic color changes she may have got a tad darker.

Have I got any ideas for names - Oh No not again

(See axie free for all/Names please...you decide).

So, if your axies 9 and my axies 9 and they look pretty darn similar - I think we got ourselves a brother and sister pair!! How Cute!!!!

Heres another pic for comparison (and cos I got nothing better to do right now)

From your post "I have grown a bit more of
her since being on this site
it's not the most common
shade of wiled type."

I wasn't sure what "grown a bit more of her" meant is all. Could have meant that she bred with another axy at some stage and you raised 'em. That there's hard work.

i have bread her before but
she hasn't had any babies
recently i was thinking it
may be because of her age?

Hmm, I wish. Quetzal bred last year, only just got rid of all the offspring. Course, I had to keep some.

on every try the babies died
after the fist 2 weeks or so
but i am much more confident now.
(if she can make more babies)

The two most important things is appropriate live food for the hatchlings and daily water changes if kept in buckets, crates etc. It takes a whole lotta time and money actually for the live food. Makes me panic just thinking about it.

Hello!!! I'm new to this website and idk how to ask a proper question on the designated spot yet, so I'll ask here, I'm a first time Axolotl owner, and my dad used to run an aquarium store, anyways... Orca, my Axolotl, seems to loose parts of her toes on one limb from time to time, I can't seem to find the problem. Tempature is well, she doesn't seem to have any infections or anything, though. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a vet in Brazil for amphibians that are in a reasonable distance to drive without stressing Orca out too much

Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
