My Axolotl jumped out on the table!

Today while I was doing a water change for Titus my White Axolotl he jumped out onto the table! I quickly got him back into some clean water with my hands after I wetted them, and I put about 1/2 of a teaspoon of salt into his clean water to help keep infection away, he injured his tail on the very tip, just a little bit, other than that he doesn't seem to have any other injuries. Will he be ok? I am really worried about him right now. He is also in the fridge, seems to be ok, he also ate after that terrible experience all of his food that I gave him. Should there be anything else I should do?

He should be fine. I wouldn't go freaking out or anything. He's probably just a little freaked out from the unplanned trip. If he didn't dry out, and didn't damage anything, and it wasn't a long fall onto the table, I wouldn't worry. Just keep an eye out for fungus, but I doubt it. You're a pretty diligent mom.

He really didn't take a long fall, it was rather more like a 4 inch fall and then a short slide. He seems to be doing really fine now, he eats ok, and his wounds seem fine. I think the bit of salt seemed to help. I will keep him a close eye on him. He really scared me when he jumped out! He's my baby

I don't think you need to put him in the fridge, although with axolotls it doesn't seem to hurt. Same thing happened with Tezca the other day, she's in isolation because Mulac bit her leg and she slipped out of my hands as I was putting her into her salt bath. Whoever said they have no strength in their legs hasn't seen Tezca wriggle! I just put her into the salt bath as planned for 10 mins, then back into her hospital tank. Even with her injury her appetite has never been bigger. She's such a pig! lol
