Hi!

I woke up this morning to check on my sister and her bf's axolotls. One of them is missing. He was fine last night when I went to bed, swimming around and all. The one that is missing hasn't really been eating a great deal but seems fine other than that. We even checked at the pet store and they said that he would be ok. But now he's missing...and me and my sister have no idea whats happened. Any ideas? I've read that some axolotls can eat others but I don't think that this could of happened. And I don't think that her bf has taken him or anything cause he hasn't been here. I hope someone can help.

Thanks!

OK - Firstly, how big are they?
Was the one thats missing much smalled then the other?
Is there anyway that the axie could have escaped? It isn't unheard of! Is there a tight fitting lid?

What kind of filter do you have?

The one that went missing is slightly smaller but they are both adults I am pretty sure. I don't think one could of escaped because there is a lid on the top of the tank and the gaps arent big enough for them to get out of. Not sure what filter it is but it came with the tank that my sister and her bf bought from the pet shop.

sucked up the filter :S thats a worry...

umm checked he isnt hiding in the substrate, or anything...

maybe someone fridged him, check the fridge?

ok...so this is weird but our axolotl mysteriously turned up again...he must of been hiding somewhere but dunno where cause I put my hand in that tank to find him...at least he's back now :) Thanks for everyones help!

misskez86, glad, that you've found axie! :)
Maybe, you should give him a name David Copperfield? :)
