I purchased my axolotl about 2 weeks ago. He had a blister on his face when I purchased him and I was assuming is was from poor care because his gills were kind of tiny too. He's been growing a lot and eating so I don't think it's been a problem for him. My only concern is the blister is growing with his size. It is looking more and more transparent as he grows and it almost looks like it will pop soon it's so thin. I have no clue if there is a way to speed up the healing or even if it will go away. I just want to know he's okay.

Did your axie ever recover from the facial blister? I just noticed my 3 month old axis is developing a blister under his chin and around his eye. I had 14 healthy ones and just gave 13 of them to a breeder but kept this one and now something's wrong... I do water changes multiple times a week due to the tank not being cycled. He's eating about a cube of bloodworms daily so no issue there.. Any input would be welcomed and appreciated!

My axolotl has had one since I received it as a 1.5-2”. It is now around 5” and the blister is growing. Did yours pop?

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
