My axolotl appears to be..um..playing with himself

Well, it appears my axie has reached puberty as last night we caught him in a compromising position, rubbing himself on his plants!
This is normal and OK, right? Just thought we should check..

I'd be very interested to hear other members thoughts on this. Haven't noticed it with my axolotl but I wouldn't put it past him.

If you have an itch you scratch it.

Axies don't 'play with themselves' in the sense you are implying, but they do enjoy the sensation of rubbing against plants, hands, sitting in bubble streams etc.

So yes, it's normal.
