Hi I have several couples of adult axies and no matter what I do I can't get them to lay. I have lowered their water temperature, warmed them up, moved them to another area but still no luck. I know I have sexed them correctly because the females have laid eggs before when no male was present. Any ideas?

I find if you want them to lay, they won't. Animals seem to know these things.
Just relax, if you have males & females in there living happily & healthily, they will lay in time.
I understand how frustrating it is, but the best advice I can give you is to leave them be with the breeding, take good care of them, and just be prepared for eggs with your live food.

Good luck. :)

Can female axies lay eggs if there is no male? I thought they only laid if they were really pregnant... maybe I'm mistaken, you sure all your "females" are females?
