I just taken some new photos of my cute girl, she's so active tonight and floating around, she seems more active now than before after she's living in my home for 3 weeks!

love her!
Any idea to give her a name? May be "Olive"?
She loves to climb on her cave rather than hide inside...lol

She's just beautiful, Morrissey.
One axie I have looks a lot like her, but it's gills are more red. I called it Splotchy.
Olive is a lovely name.

She has beautiful colouring and gills! Olive is a good name! Your video of her eating is interesting, as she approached the food so slowly. Mine do that too, but I feed them by hand with frozen cubes, and they often latch onto my fingers

Oh she's pretty - I would call her Merlot, after the rich red wine.
It would match that gorgeous gill colouring, and her patterns are a visual representation of the flavour!
(Personally, I hate wine - but I'm giving a nice opinion on her!)

Beautiful 'lotl!

You take some pretty nice photos of your guy. I see he has shrimp freinds, meant to help eat his leftovers and algae, to play with. One of my axies loves to stalk the shrimp but cannot catch them. The other axie realizes he cannot catch them and leaves them alone, but he did look sad when i moved his shrimp friends to another house.

How does your guy treat the shrimp

Thank you all of you, you are so nice!
Yeah, but actually my little girl's gills are looking a bit pale, it only looks sharp under camera. May be the right lighting.

haha, and AnnMarie, she just loves to chase the shrimp and always try to eat them, however the shrimp are too smart and get away from her. But it's like a non-stop catching even she's too slow for shrimp hunting, actually she did eat few of them when I first out the shrimp inside the tank.
I think I may Stick with "Olive" although "Merlot"s a beautiful name, since I plan to call her future bf as Oliver, so later they can be "Olive & Oliver"! LOL

If i ever get an axie the same colour as yours Id name him "Siyokoy". Its from Filipino mythology ^^ When i see your guy i think of siyokoy for some reason.

Here is an excerpt from wikipedia "The Siyokoy is the male counterpart of the Sirena. The Siyokoy has gill slits, is colored brown or green, and has scaly skin, comparable to that of fishes'."

*grins* Olive is a good name too!
I might reserve Merlot should I ever get a wild.
I may have to prod my partner for a birthday present :D

She is very beautiful, and I love the way she sniffs her food so carefully.
When I chuck pellets in for Spyyk, the clever animal catches them and scoffs them like that!

Hi AnnMarie! My axie's a girl! At least i think she's in this moment, but I guess she' around 1 years old!

Hi Amber, yeah, she's very beautiful, I'm planning to buy a golden axie as her boyfriend someday next month, since Axie's very expensive here in Hong Kong!

When you get your other axie, make sure to quarantine it for 30 days to make sure he is completely healthy and doesn't pass anything nasty onto Olive. So many people get excited buying another companion and are impatient and end up putting them together straight away instead of quarantining. Invariably the healthy axie seems to get sick.

ah..thanks for your advice Kapo!
But if the shop actually put them together together before? Will it be ok or I still have to pay more attention no matter what?

It's still best to quarantine them. You've had Olive for 3 weeks now and by the time you get "Oliver" if he happens to be sharing with feeder fish or other companions, live plants, or something wrong with the tankwater which makes him sick, then there could be the chance he could pass it on to Olive. Do you really want to take that chance? 30 Days may seem long, but if it means you ensure Olive's health and the possible health of your new axie b4 combining them it is worth it all the more.

Also, if you do intend having 2 axies, you may need a larger tank - as axies can grow to 30cm (our 11mth year olds are now 30cm). As long as your tank length (not height) is 60cm or more than you're fine.

Thanks Kapo, I would also like to ask more about the tank size, my current one for one axie's only 18"x10" tank, it's not big but I guess it's enough for my small Olive now.
And the only 24" tank I seen in pet shop now's 24"(60cm) long, but the wide's only 8inches"(21cm), is it too narrow for a axie to turn around in this size?
Thanks

It would be better if you could get one at least 12"/30cm wide. Also, as you add decorations, caves for the two axies, you will find it gets a little cramped.

I read that if the axie's stressful, their gills may turns forward, my Olive's top gills on both side actually looks a bit forward, but she do looks relax and eat a lot recently. Will it be any problem to affect her and makes her stressful or it's only because the shape of her gills's different? Since I saw many axie with straight gills, not like Olive with a curve one.

ah! OK! My Olive already changed to a new bigger tank! She was a little quiet a day before but now she becomes active and swim relaxing again! Here's some new photos!
