Hi!
I found my camera :D and I made some pictures of my 2 axies. I know their tank is a bit dirty but that is because of 3 things: 1) the floor is not covered with anything (if it would be, it would look much more cleaner) 2) I am going to buy a vacuumer (wich will help with filtering the water too) 3) I was busy with my plants and alot of leaves fell off
But anyways, here are my Axolotls, the albino was looking for some food, I give them Red Mosquito Larva.
ENJOY :D

Looking good, and what pretty little axolotl.
The only thing that will be a problem soon, is that the axolotl will soon be big enough to accidentally eat the gravel. the general rule , is if it is any smaller than your axolotl's head, it can be eaten.

:DPheew thanks!:D
I was very nervous, I tought my tank looked dirty!!!
Glad that you, an experienced Axolotl knower, find them healthy!
The store is closed today, so I will have to go tomorrow to get my Vacuumer. About the gravel, I tought it is big enough for now. When they are big I will propably get some other gravel. I am thinking: 1) Small black gravel (VERY SMALL), OR, 2) Sand
Any idea?

Which ever you like best.:D
I started off using well rinsed play sand, but my lot would clear a race track around the edges. It would really bug me for some reason. I ended up removing it all and leaving it bare. I have seen some tanks that have used sealed slate tiles on the base, I always hoped to do something similar, but keep forgetting and adding the water:(

:D
Ok then I will take the Black Gravel, because in the future, I plan to add a Dwarf White Crab. It will look better on Black Gravel, like my Albino Axolotl. The Wildtype one will get something special....... ;)

They look healthy. As others have said the gravel will be an issue. While they may not be able to eat it today before you know it they will be. I also noticed a heater in your tank. Not sure that you need it. They need cold water.

Not sure the crab is a good idea either. Do a quick search for the horror stories of tank mates and axolotls.

I would go with sand or bare bottom, but it is your set up.

The heater is still from a couple weeeks ago, it was pretty cold, and the heater came in very handy. It is still here because I want to make sure my water doesn't go below 20,5C (70F I think, not sure?), tough it is pretty warm here, I keep my window open all day. The crab, yes, I know that may be an issue, but I am thinking (IN THE FUTURE) to maybe seperate my tank, or get a new one, and keep some fish and a crab in it. But I will see in the future. I have seen countless people with small Black Gravel, and they did not have any issues. You never know how it works out untill you see it right? ;)
Thanks for the comment!

nice tank and Axies. It is pretty dirty but that alright you can just clean it later.;)

Good to hear it, I am going to purchase my Vacuumer tomorrow :D
I don't know why my filter can't handle this ammount of water, maybe because the water is not moving? Any toughts about that?
