My 1st salamander

I am a beginner herpoculturist who is creating a larger vivarium for my crested gecko. This will leave a 20-gallon cage empty. I have decided that if my parents allow it, I will keep a large terestrial salamander inside it (I'm really bad with water filters). So far i am concidering the following species:
Eastern Tiger salamander (A. Tigrum)
Marbled salamander (A. Opacum)
Fire salamander (Salamandra salamandra)
Any info about these species as well as caging ideas, other beginner species and places to but them from would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I've owned both the tiger and the marbled and I prefer the tiger over the marbled. She just has more personality.

Yeah, I'm also considering some other Ambystomids, assuming I can find specemines anywhere legally.

Mark, there is (almost) no such thing as a CB Ambystoma, other than axolotls. Opacum have been bred in captivity, but only VERY rarely. Tigers have not (unless you count ponds as CB). If you want CB, you need to look for fire sal juveniles.

Ok then, Fire salamander it is! Thanks for helping everyone! Now that all ambystomids are ruled out, and I want a terrestrial species, the Fire salamander is my choice.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
