My axolotl is about 1 year old now, and for the majority of the time i’ve had him i’ve fed him pellets. He recently started refusing to eat them and i was very confused because he has always seemed to like them and he’s very healthy. I was concerned that he wasn’t eating so I started giving him some frozen bloodworms I had that i usually give him as a treat. He readily ate the bloodworms, and i’ve tried pellets again as well as live earthworms and he won’t even bite it. I’ve tried to find live black worms online but they seem to be sold out almost everywhere. I’m just worried that he’s not getting enough nutrition from the bloodworms, and if he keeps eating them it’ll be even harder to get him to eat anything else. His water parameters and temp are also perfect. Any suggestions?

there are quite a few different foods that you can try ranging from frozen to live, for frozen food there is brineshrimp, krill, mysis, cockle, mussel, prawns, beefheart as well as bloodworm, for live food there is shrimps ie.. brine (these are mostly for young hatchlings) ghost, river, cherry, there is fish ie.. platy, molly, guppy, and there are worms.
the main thing is that the food is meat based as axolotls are carnivorous, bloodworm can still be fed as part of a varied balanced diet.
