The little fella from this development series: http://www.caudata.org/cc/articles/series_Cp.shtml has come of age and is sporting his first breeding sheen. Given the rate he fans the female he may even get some eggs of his own.

Wow! It is really incredible to see him go from being an egg to an adult ready to have eggs of his own!:D By the way, those are great pictures, they really capture his personality.

That is a very cool update, Mark. I am amazed you can keep track of individual eggs/larvae to adulthood ! I cannot tell any of my larvae or morphs apart (the adults are a different matter, though). Thanks for sharing.

Hi Heather, I was looking after the parents for a friend and kept just the one egg to photograph. I didn't have any siblings to confuse him with! :D

Let's hope he's as into the ladies as the "other" Mr Sheen. :)

Looks like he's a hit . I spotted this well hidden egg this morning (I promise not to do another development series).

What the egg turned into.

The little fellow has a different pigmentation than his father - is the picture also taken at the day of hatching or have the pigments already started to migrate?
And concerning the developmental series...I like these series and there are still some days missing but unfortunately it is too late now :p

edit: well, if I see it right, the young one is already developing front legs. That would answer my question if it is hatching day...

That's a very good observation, Daniel. Here's a shot of the above larva on the day of hatching. The pigmentation, such as the line through the eye becomes more pronounced within a week, which is how old the first shot is.
*the lines on the photo are part of the plastic container it's in.

Update - sorry about the dirty glass.
