Movement in new hatchlings ?

Hi Guys

How much movement should you expect from new hatchlings ? We just had our first one hatch and it's pretty still - just the occassional flicker and not seen it eat yet - any ideas ? :-(

well it has just hatched its been in a egg for quite a while so maybe just give it time

There are 3 hatched now - they don't move a lot but will move if something comes near them ... anyone know if that's normal for a few hours old ?

Any further advise appreciated

i Think thats very normal ! Babies dont like that much movement in usual..;P How many days took it for them to hatch ? Im waiting for mine

Ours took between 2 and 3 weeks - it was the first batch and not many hatched - some of the ones that did seemed to hatch before they were ready and died a day or 2 later :-(. For some reason quite a few just stopped developping - we don't know why. We have only about 4 alive at the moment - from a starting figure of about 250 eggs ! There are still some that occassionally hatch from the eggs so we are just waiting to see if we get anymore....

Mine started hatching after 11 days - still loads of eggs to go - have put daphnia into tank but they don't seem much interested - loads of others look set to hatch - jumping about in cells

tThey won'r eat for a day or 2. The line (creamy / white coloured) on their underside is the egg yolk that they will still be eating. Ours all died - the last 2 died yesterday :-(. Think it was the hot weather we had yesterday ...
