Moss balls

If you find out where to get them, let me know! I have been looking but haven't had any luck. I think you can grow them from cuttings?

Regards Eastern_axle

Ive been looking too! Eastern_axle, it seems that axie things are hard to come by here hey! I still havent had any luck with the pellets, though am waiting to hear from Pet stock.
I do know that there is a pet store in cranbourne, a little aquarium just past the police station, that is willing to obtain Java moss balls for you. I couldnt get any at the time, but if you are near they are happy to help.

And Matthew, some of us do not like to buy through ebay, myself included.

I hafta say, I buy mine from eBay too.
Whilst there are bad Bayers out there, the majority are very good.
Look for powersellers where possible, and check the percentage of good feedback.

Java moss balls often don't stay ball shaped to be quite honest - been there, tried that.
Marimo moss however, is completely different - it's a VERY slow growing form of algae - and as long as it's rolled about occasionally, will stay a perfect ball.

Nowadays I do a lot of my axie shopping on eBay, pellets, plants and toys, through sellers I've come to trust (and in several cases, know)!

marimo balls are great. i have about ten.

I'd really like some marimos also. I've seen some people selling on ebay who are willing to ship to australia but i'm not sure if they would be let through by quarantine. Also I read that as they are an endangered species that some may actually be different types of algae rolled into a ball and not actually a marimo. Has anyone in Australia successfully bought a marimo ball from an international seller on ebay?
