I have for about a month a fir salamandre larva. It is now in the time that it will get out of water. His colors has changed and everything has gone(i think) according to nature.Today a few moments ago it went out water completely..After 10 minutes it returned back to water and stayed there for around 20 minutes..Then it came out of the water again! What should i do now?Should i change it to the terrestrial tank or wait for a little more..?Plz reply asap!Thanks..

Hey Panos,

Congratulations on your animal morphing. What I recommend doing is lowring the water until there is hardly any left, and then transfering the salamander to it's terrestrial setup. If you do it over a few days. I did that with my tigers when they morphed and they all turned out well.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
