Morphed axies

I have a friend who has a pair of morphed leusistics. She is keeping them in shallow water, and although they are feeding, I want to convince her to keep them terrestrial. When they breathe when out of water, their throat pulsates, but still does the area where the gills were, also, there is ablack dot where the gills stemmed from, does this mean they still have vestiges of gillls?
I suggested that she put a large water dish in tthe terrestrial tank and place the sallies in it so they can leave it via rocks if they want to, would this work?
thanks,
Chris

morphed axies are exceedingly rare. its very doubtable that a pair would morph. also, morphed adults are much more suceptible to disease and ailments and usually dont live longer than a few years.

the little black dot is probably just a remnant of the gills that hasnt been completely absorbed yet.

i believe that morphed axies are terrestrial and should be treated in a matter similar to tiger sals

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
