More things in my tank??

Aww what a cute axi! I would add another hide, something like a plant pot or cave. I reckon you have the space to add more plants if you wanted to as well.

i like the plant pot idea, they are live plants but i do have some fake ones about that i might chuck in to

cheers

I bought a cheap terracotta pot and snapped it in half to make a half moon hide for my baby wildtype. It loves sitting on it, and in it! But yes definitely more hides and plants.

Your axie such a cutie!, reminds me of my Mr Bojangles when he was that size :p

they have such large head when they are that size :D while he is a juvinile you could put some mugs in there? most of my hides are made out of stuff i dont need around the house like old mugs or pots or vases. Plants would make your tank look great, plastic plants are fantastic but not as good for water quality

great taste in music, i must say. brand new is awesome, though im not a fan of laceys recent "softer side"

That video is just so ridiculously adorable! :D

I would say maybe a small hide, Mine liked a vase that had a big back but a small entrance, but personally i would go first for more plants. Mine loves roaming and sitting in them. Drop a couple of cambomba in there :D they look great. :ufo:

SO CUTE!!! Does she just swim back and forth all day?? NAWWW...

I have an Axie called Lottie, she was my first. You have the first other Lottie I've met! :) Mine actually came about from Charlotte believe it or not, not Axolottie.. :) hehe..

So cute, couple more hidey holes few more plants ! x

Do them legs not get worn out from swimming so much lol, youll come in and see a smaller axy where shes been excercising too much :D

Lovely to see her so active x

I don't have an axie, and I'm not taking a stab at your cute baby buuuuutttttt.... Are they all pretty clumbsy and slow swimmers?

Are all aquatic caudates? My cfbn are clumbsy but not slow, looks like they are having keniptions lol

she is not always this active, she does sit there watching the world go by and then swims for a few mins, maybe she a is a clumsy swimmer coz shes not used to her legs yet??

So cute! She could definitely enjoy some more hides though. Make sure that they are roomy! Sagan once forced himself inside a volcano I have in their tank, but got stuck because he couldn't turn around. Only the tip of his tail was sticking out. I had to stuff a sponge in the entrance to avoid that :p

As for the swimming, they only get more ridiculous as their legs get bigger! Mine usually "walk" while they swim around very slowly. Makes their legs look like little pinwheels, even though it doesn't help them move faster at all :) They can swim very quickly if they want to though! Like when you startle them. Zoom!

It seems like another reason your Lottie's swimming is so funny in the video is because she had to poo! Her floaty bum gives it away :p

Axies are clumsy and slow by nature - they also don't see very well ;)

I love axies at this size. Def more plants - and something with complete shade - the plant pot and mug ideas are good, you can also get commercial ornaments that should give some cover, takes a bit of hunting. I like to have a mixture of live and fake plants - the silk plants are good as they tend to have leaves with a larger surface area.
