Sorry about all the stupid questions but im not used to rearing axolotls in groups bigger than 4
i noticed that the babies in groups are slowing in growth rate while those i isolated to set aside for others have grown much faster
should i offer the babies more space? is it more beneficial to put them all in a bigger tank or just make smaller groups of them??

I have no experience with babies but I would think the fewer per container would mean less competition for food and you could better monitor there food intake thus eliminating that variable . Sonomo is the breeder I got mine from and she has some of the biggest 3 month olds I've ever seen and she kept them in a large tank altogether but kept them stuffed . My little guys are five to six inches long and are only 3 months old she would be a good person to ask . You can easily find her in the for sale u.s. Section Maria/sonomo

When I raise mine in smaller containers in pairs I always noticed that one would grow faster than the others. Likewise when I put them into a tank there was always one giant and a little one who kept missing bits of himself. I raise my separately because of things that. Lots of people manage to raise them together though based off what I see here. The trick to keeping them together does seem to be keeping them full.
