Mixing races of the Japanese Fire Belly Newts

Just wondering, I am getting a chance to acquire more Japanese Fire Belly newts from another source. Knowing that there is a potential that this patch might be difficult race of my original patch, will there be a problem in mixing the two? Particularly in Breeding the Newts?

If I have a Japanese Newt of Sasayama and a Kanto, for example, will be breed? (I guess it should). But will there be problem? If I only have one Kanto introduced to the Sasayama group, and I want to have the gene of Kanto, is it a bad idea or good idea to use one sasayama to breed with the Kanto and selectively isolate the gene of the Kanto race through a few generations? This is just an example to illustrate my thought, in my case, likely both group I get are likely the same race (sasayama)

Thanks,

It would be a real pitty if they bred. The resulting ofsspring will be a worthless mix that will only contaminate other crossings. You won´t be able to selectively breed the contamination out.
I very much recommend that you don´t mix any of them unless you are absolutely sure they are from the same origin.

I agree with Azhael on this one. There are already too many unkown locales of pyrrhogaster in the hobby now. You are one of the lucky ones that actually have a known locale and I'd hate to see that wasted.

However, if they are of the same sex then go for it.:D

Hello.

I'm agree with Azhael and Justin, in all species. But Sasayama and Kanto not interbreed, in fact sasayama couple it's diferent to other races and not breed with others. Other intrerraces breeding are possible, but with Sasayama i think, no.
but i think it's good, inds one race with inds. to same race.

Adeu!
