I have two axolotls, who are siblings. They'd been separated for about a year and a half, but a year ago I moved them into the same 20 gallon tank. Last week, I noticed one of their front hands was missing. I knew that axolotls could eat each other, but decided to wait to see if anything more happened.
Today, we (I work in a library and they are much loved library pets) noticed that more of the arm is missing, but also the other front arm seems extremely thin. Is it possible the other axolotl could eat the arm in a way that would make it appear very thin, or could there be something else wrong with the axolotl causing it to lose limbs and have thinning limbs?
Thanks for your help! I joined to ask this question, but now I'm excited to be part of the community!
