Yesterday my two axolotl Max and Suzie
were in for a treat--
I brought them a HUGE juicy earthworm.

And they LOVED it...
:lick:

While fighting with the worms, my axolotl became very active
and got really purple gills...
they were so excited!


After that there was nothing else happening in the tank anymore,
the two of them were just sitting there, digesting...

Lovely pictures! Looking at the size of that worm I bet they had full tummys for a long while after! No wonder they just sat quietly after! Kerry.

I actually chopped it into 4 pieces...
2 pieces went to Max who swallowed them in one go
(I could not take a picture) and one piece (in the picture)
went to Suzie.:frog:
None of them was motivated to eat piece number 4 after that...
But today evening, they both again are eating like vaccumcleaners...
their pellets.
they have to regrow all their limbs after their time at uni,
so they need the protein...
