May have accidentally hurt Newt

Yesterday I was opening my newts cage to feed him and he was clinging to the edge of the tank, trying to get out so I poked him back into the water. I know newts have sensitive skin but I temporarily forgot and now I'm worried that I hurt him Is he okay?

He'll be fine. If I was handling any animal I would give my hands a good rinse under water and keep contact minimal.
