Still being pedantic about my setup even though i still havn't got my axolotls yet! The temperature in my tank is a stable 23C but from what i've read this is too high. I will eventually have to get a chiller because I'm not home enough for the ice bottle method, but i would like to know if axolotls will be ok in the mean time.

It depends, some axolotls can tolerate up to 24C where as others get sick once the temperature goes over 20C - I guess you will have to wait and see. Keep a close eye on them for any signs of stress at that temperature. I think under 20C is ideal so if you can aim for that, that would save you any worry. Anything over 24C you will need to take steps to reduce the temperature asap.
