Random questions: apologies if there has already been such a thread.

Are earthworms a good staple diet for marbled salamanders or marbled newts?
Is it essential to feed them crickets/locusts or are there other foods which will give them the required amount of nutrients so that crickets/locust may be avoided?

Thanks

Hello, if you use the search option, or look under the heading in the forum topic section that says live foods/earthworms, there have been multiple discussions on proper diet.

As a general rule, it is under many peoples opinion that earthworms provide a complete, healthy diet and should be considered a staple. Crickets tend to lack some of the important nutritional requirements and therefore need to be dusted.
