Hey everyone.
Im looking to keep a trio of marbled newts in a terestrial type set up and im wondering if a exoterra vivarium would be suitable?.Also what type of substrate would be the best?.IM looking to feed them small crickets(wich i will gut load with fish food) and worms.Any advice would be welcome

Is this what you mean:
Exo Terra : Products : Glass Terrarium

You could certainly use a tank of that type. However, there are several reasons you might want to consider a more traditional tank and screen lid combo. (1) The tall height of these tanks is wasted on a newt. What matters is the floor-space dimensions. (2) The exo-terra does not give you the flexibility to redo the habitat into a mostly-aquatic setup if you later decide to breed them. They won't breed in a water dish. (3) Three T. marmoratus need a fairly large amount of space. Keeping in mind that it's the floor space that matters, you'll be buying a pretty expensive tank to get one large enough.

Hi Jennewt.
I had thought the taller exoterra vivs might be useless for the newts, but i had seen a three foot vivarium made by them? They have a screen top for ventilation to wich i know that the marbled newts like good ventilation.I think i may go for the conventional aquarium and screen top and find a way of partitioning it 50/50 what do you think?
