I’ve searched keywords and can’t find an answer to this so I hope you don’t mind me asking

I wondered when/how often Marbled newts shed? I have three that are roughly 6 months old and I just want to know what to expect in this regard. It’s the only thing I haven’t managed to find in my research.

Thanks in advance

It’s going to depend on their rate of growth, which in turn is somewhat dependent on how much they eat.
I’m not even going to guess at frequency, because I don’t actually witness shedding very often.

I fully agree with Herpin Man.
Moreover, since newts eat their old skin when shedding, it's very difficult to know when they shed.
(they sometimes show a more bright color just after shedding)

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
