Hi all
Just a query about one of my male marbled newts that has emerged from winter hibernation in their outdoor tanks. The issue is what looks like disease on one of its front feet. I thought it might be residual skin from. moulting but if it is then it's not being discarded easily. It's early days yet and I might be worrying unnecessarily but I wondered if anyone else had come across this situation.
Thanks
John Gregory

A photo would help. Keeping the newt in a slightly dry enclosure often clears up minor skin issues.

Hi and thanks for the message. I've finally managed to get a photo and it does seem like the newt has lost some toes. I believe this species can regenerate limbs so that might be a positive. Also regarding your dry enclosure tip : this newt and 2 others have voluntarily taken to the water. Thanks again for the input.

Regards
John
