marbled newt diet

i brought 3 marbled newts (marmoratus) recently and at first had them in an aquatic setup however they spent 95% on land and werent eating. i now have them in a terrestrial setup and i am feeding them size 3 crickets but they seem really fast. anyone know if they will be able to catch them or what else i can feed them?

Weather aquatic or terrestrial, I always try to base newt diets on earthworms with other stuff like crickets and woodlice or anything else I find that I think they might like offered now and again as treats. If you feed mainly earthworms you can be sure they are getting the correct calcium/phosphate ratio along with all the other vitamins and minerals they need to stay healthy. With diets based on crickets etc you'll need to dust everything with multivitamin supplements to avoid deficiencys.
