It may not be possible to accurately sex the animal if it´s a recent import or out of breeding condition.
Look out for the possible development of a bulging cloaca and blueish spots on the tail (that would make it a male).

My male has a spot on his tail that looks white, but is actually translucent. He has had a bulging cloaca since I bought him (august last year)
