Male or Female Please

Hi All I'm a brand new axolotl owner had him just over a week I think he's pretty happy in his new Big tank. The lady who I adopted him from told me she thinks he's a boy and she had him for around 6yrs.

I'd just like to ask if people could help me to be sure he's a he

The cloaca is much more defined and the body more slender...I'd say male.

Thank you that's what his original owner had said. Just wanted to get a second opinion. To reassure myself.
My daughter wants to get him a girl friend. But I want to make sure he's happy and has a good routine, and feeding etc. And I want another 2 hides in the tank before we get another one.

How big is your tank? Also, you'll need to quarantine for 30 days if you get a second one too. And definitely research raising baby axolotls too.
