Seems like cooler weather or shorter days has inspired some of my males to put on their breeding dress.
First, a Triturus karelinii showing off his new mohawk and flashy tail stripe:
Next, a Cynops pyrrhogaster with some highlights just behind the mouth and on the tail:
And finally, much to my amazement, a male Neurergus strauchii with some white spots and highlights on his tail. I really had no idea that strauchii had any kind of breeding dress at all, so this is exciting!
