Im a bit crazy about anubias plants I think they are perfect plants :D

Good job! These are gorgeous. If you didn't live in the UK, I'd totally buy some youngsters.

Well done :)

How big is your female she looks abit small to breed

Like the way you put the air stone in the water but that is not needed

If you wanna off load some eggs i will take some of your hands cover the postage abd abit more cheers

Lol u joking small , she is the biggest axolotl ive ever seen lol might be worth looking in my gallery for more pics x and im keeping all this lot hun x next lot will be for sale x

I bought two of the small brine shrimp hatcheries off of ebay (from china i think) I think they are about $10. I start one on day one and the other on day two, so I have a constant supply of bbs. They are only about 500mls and are enough for a few dozen babies. I have a small 1/2 tsp, and i put 4 scoops aquarium salt and one scoop bbs eggs (also from ebay) I keep them in the warmest part of the house with the light on 24hr and they usually hatch in 24-36 hours and I get two days of feeding (bbs) from each one. I tried the pop bottle kind but they were messier and harder to deal with. i have them both hooked up to one small air pump with a two way valve so when you want to harvest one you shut off the air to that one, put a light near the bottom, wait a few minutes, disconnect the air hose and let some drain through a shrimp seive (ebay again) always rinse with fresh dechlorinated water to remove salt. then put into the baby tubs. I always do a 100% water change daily of the larva tubs because the dead bbs are quite smelly and foul the water. I am pretty sure the picture on ebay has a tall thin yellow and blue box, and the air line coming out the bottom is blue. Like them also because they don't take up much room, and you can have mutiple one running in case of batch failures (or when your kids unhook one
Good luck.

Oh my, ive been taking a bigger look at them all has they have been growing, and there are twins triplets and quadruplets!!!!!!!!!!! Ive not seen any quadruplets on the forum..

There was even an egg with 6 axie eggs in , 4 of them have developed the other two havent, what the hell!!! This is soooo cool

Got a light on the brine shrimp to heat them up because they are too cold and not hatching very well at all :) so fingers crossed ill have baby brine shrimp for xmas .... Erm? Yeah not the best pressie ive had :)

Thank you so much!!!

Problem is I have over 300-400 babies so im going to need a lot of hatchers running constantly!! Ive got one trial set up already made out of plastic, and will buy some online tonight from what you have suggested thanks!! x

So 500ml of water, 1/2 tea spoon of eggs , and 4 x 1/2 tea spoon of salt, does it have to be sea salt i read it can be normal salt xx

Thanks so much for your help, Im really gonna need it:) x

Seriously any information is much appreciated, like really appreciated :) Thanks mizzerman xxx:happy:

I use normal house salt

Where you living ?????

Hampshire, been having troubles with hatching, I would of sent you eggs but they are seriously going to hatch really soon, and my mum wont let me  btw im not five, but she sees them as her babies (rather than seeing me as her only child haha) !!x

So do you use the same method as mizzerman?

How old are you then ?????

I use jam jar with 6 holes in the lid airpipe with air stone in one of the holes all the way to the bottom and jusy 4 spoones of salt and half spoon eggs and leave them on window sill max 30 hours

Hope ur mother has room to seperate them all in to indervidual pots where there a month old to stop them eating each other

Rhys

The axolotls are mine, she doesnt care for them i do, i have enough room for every single one including tubs a 3 ft tank and a four foot tank. Why does my age matter ? Will it really mean im not going to take care of all these babies no. I earn my own money and old enough so i dont have justify myself to anyone on a forum lol. You are your mum's child too u know so does that mean i have to ask for your age no. Are u old enough to buy alchohol maybe u can go in the shop for me hahahaha !

Thanks for the advice but please im 20 just having a joke, i can and will take care of these juviniles, and i appreciate your care as a lot of people dont seem to care about animals xx

Hi, i noticed that some of your eggs appeared to be covered in a layer sand (it looks like the substrate in your tank), could you keep a note of the hatch rate between the sandy and non sandy eggs, it would be interesting to see if there is a difference. Thanks.

Ok ian , so far not much of a chAnge at all, i have a large amount of egfs twins triplets quadruplets, fivelets and sixlets lol. The ones on the plant seemed to grow less well and flatter and the sandy ones are forming quick and very curly moving lots too x

I think you are supposed to stay away from iodized salt (which is some table salts) I buy aquarium salt at the pet store and it's not that expensive and lasts forever. I knew someone who did research on tiger salamander larvae and she was taking care of a thousand larva. She was hatching brine shrimp in a garbage can. So you can use any size container that would hatch enough shrimp for your needs, just need to get the salinity (amount of salt) right, for that you can pick up a salt meter (i forget the technical name, hydrometer?) at a pet store that sells salt water aquarium stuff, they are pretty cheap (or ebay). The only special thing you really need is the shrimp net or seive to catch the shrimp from your hatchery. When i first started i just went to a few sites on how to hatch brine shrimp. My newt larva are about 2 inches and i have started feeding them white worms (live) pellets and frozen blood worms, so hopefully you will only need to hatch shrimp for 1-2 months and get them onto something easier. Of course you will have straglers that take forever to grow . I am anxiously awaiting a batch of axolotl eggs myself, let me know how yours goes! and good luck.
