Illness/Sickness: Loosing gill color??

Hello, my axolotl is loosing its color on its gills? anyone who know why??

What are the water stats for your tank? i.e. pH, ammonia and nitrate etc.

Also, what do you use to oxygenate the water in the tank?

mine do the same when theyre in a state of rest or when theyre hungry
when did you feed them last?
trying feeding them again and I almost guarantee you will see their gills darken as they get more blood flow from the increased activity of eating and digesting food

The color of the gills depends on their level of activity. More active -> need for more oxygen -> more blood flow to the gills -> red gills.
Their gills are sometimes really pale when they're resting.

thx for the reply ^^.. its mostly when he is resting.. and they get darker when he is on the move ..
