Just thought i'd share my little smilers with you, up the top is Barney (aptly named after the 16 stones he passed when i liberated him from the pet store), then banana boy (yellow one), azumi (white one) and gumball
lol they should look good with the amount of fertilizer they get Rob! i've been recycling the tank water and putting it on my pot plants and tell you what it's given them a new lease of life.
and the ferts are not cheap either, what ferts do u use ? i'm only using Seachem flourish Comprehensive and excell + root tabs @ the moment + Co2 "yeast sugar mix" but getting a pressurised Co2 setup this week, all my plants are in my 3 footer still cause they didnt have enough light in my 5 footer, still waiting for my new lights to get here grrr
2 weeks wed
damn public holidays
ordered a 2 x 80w T5 150cm setup, so hopefully that will do good
it would want to for the price i paid !
i syphon my water changes into a garden bed too
I don't use any fertilizers other than the axies, and the tank it thriving, i've got two growlux tubes which have made all the difference and one normal tube. I keep them on from 7am to 10pm though which is probably a little too much but they seem to do well. I was contemplating putting co2 in but since my water is very soft to begin with i decided that the constant battle with the ph wasn't worth the effort.
PS don't add up what you've spent, it puts a damper on the obsession
wow there growing extremely well with out any ferts then
good lighting makes all the difference, when i added my 3rd tube to my 3 foot u could really c the difference
i found with using the ferts and Co2 it actually gets rid of the algae now iv'e found the right ballance
with the Co2 set up i'm getting, i am buying a pH controller which connects up to the reg and solinoid and it controls the Co2 to what ever i set the pH too. it will be fully automated
by buying the parts seperate and hiring the 6Kg bottle yearly and making the inline reactor "diffuser"
it will only cost me $650-700 which is pretty good for a fully automated Co2 set up
i dont even want to think about all the $ i have spent on these two aquariums lol
just in the process of setting up a Lake Malawi Cichlids tank too
