hey Rob,

I don't use any fertilizers other than the axies, and the tank it thriving, i've got two growlux tubes which have made all the difference and one normal tube. I keep them on from 7am to 10pm though which is probably a little too much but they seem to do well. I was contemplating putting co2 in but since my water is very soft to begin with i decided that the constant battle with the ph wasn't worth the effort.

PS don't add up what you've spent, it puts a damper on the obsession ;)

wow there growing extremely well with out any ferts then
happy.gif
good lighting makes all the difference, when i added my 3rd tube to my 3 foot u could really c the difference

i found with using the ferts and Co2 it actually gets rid of the algae now iv'e found the right ballance

with the Co2 set up i'm getting, i am buying a pH controller which connects up to the reg and solinoid and it controls the Co2 to what ever i set the pH too. it will be fully automated
by buying the parts seperate and hiring the 6Kg bottle yearly and making the inline reactor "diffuser"
it will only cost me $650-700 which is pretty good for a fully automated Co2 set up

i dont even want to think about all the $ i have spent on these two aquariums lol
just in the process of setting up a Lake Malawi Cichlids tank too
