just wondering, is there a recommended ltrs/hour intake and output for pumps and filters in an axie tank? Considering the flow is minimal is the higher the better?

what would be the minimum requirement for the whole tank to be turned over per hour?

thanks

ok i just found a general rate online which looks like a good starting point:

Work out the capacity of my fish tank

Multiply the length x width x height measuring in centimetres and divide by 1000 to get the capacity in litres:

  • example: 60cm x 40cm x 40cm = 96000. 96000 / 1000 = 96 litres
Now multiply this by 3 and 4 to get an approximate flow rate range for your filter.

  • example: 96 x 3 = 288, 96 x 4 = 384
In this example a suitable filter would have a flow rate of 300-400 litres per hour.

would this hold true for an axolotl tank? And does it really matter if the rate was a lot lower? or would the waste be too much for the filter?

yellowpebble I have been told that the tank should cycle through the filter 3 times an hour(I dont know how true it is tho). For example I have a tank that holds 500lt so the filter i got was 1500lt per hour. The flow is very strong so you will have to arrange plants or something to modify it somehow.

cool thanks! hey how many feet long is your tank?
